dinner and a movie

Chad took a first stab at qualifying for the WSOP main event this year, by playing in the Harrah's qualifier on friday.
He didn't do very well, but it's worth trying. I also would like to remind any potential other WSOP suitors that in a couple of weeks, I will be hosting my own qualifier. I posted some details before, and I'm still ironing out some details, but in short, $40-$50 buyin, no rebuys, for 3 weeks in a row. These qualify you for the final table, which will pay $1700 to the winner. That winner will represent us in the $1500 NL holdem no rebuy WSOP event in June.

Jeff and I are constantly talking about building more tables in general, and they do need to be done before these events start. I ordered the motor for the table hoist, can't to start building it.

Ann took off to omaha this afternoon to hang with some of her high school friends. So I changed the oil in every vehicle I have, including the Suzuki, which I'd been meaning to change the oil in it for several months. Then I tore it apart and put in a defeat for the kickstand safety, so I can start it with the kickstand down. (neutral switch still is broke, and this is the next best solution)

I bought this Friday.

I've been wanting one for a awhile. I still love my minidisc player, but it's getting old, and now flash-based players are cheap enough and hold enough that they're worth it, in my opinion. I almost fell for the new ipod, but they're too trendy, and they don't accept downloaded mp3s, so they're right out for me.

Since Ann was gone, and I'll admit straightaway that I'm too lazy to cook for everyone, and I'm always looking for an excuse to go to HuHot, we went to HuHot. I can't get enough of that food. But.....
there's a big butt in the equation, and it's mine. What they don't tell you is that HuHot is a Mongolian word that means 'maximum strength laxitive'. Every time I leave that place, I have to race home (20 minutes away!). It's always stressfull, because it's always going to be a photo finish. Once we made the mistake of stopping at a store on the way home after eating there. I had to run to the JoAnn fabics bathroom, and thankfully, it was empty. It would have been ugly if it hadn't been.
And I've heard similar stories from several other people. I know one guy who says he won't even eat there anymore even though he likes the food because the after effects are so bad.
Tonite I didn't even make it out of the restaurant. Twice. Then it was still a race home and some quality reading time.
It was 20 minutes of standing before I could sit down in a normal chair again.

HuHot. 3 plates of delicious food now, 3 hours of bathroom time to come.
