don't get me wrong
Busy busy busy
But not so much with work lately. Still plenty to do, just might have a handle on it for the moment.
I spent the weekend doing several things.
Friday nite, I bought a truckload of studs to start the framing of the bathroom wall, then Ann and I watched Taps. I started watching it intently, then decided it sucked, so I tried to do some homework in the background during the last half.
Saturday, I got up and took the kids to the climbing wall at the Y. I even got to climb once this time. I hate heights. I'm always telling them they should go higher, and it's no big deal because you're on this belay line, you can't fall. Yeah, easy to say when you're on the ground. I got about halfway up quickly and wanted to crap myself. But I just kept telling myself I couldn't fall, and I managed to climg to the top, at which point my forearms were on fire, so I just let go and let the 150 lb kid lower me. Then I felt bad for him, and climbed down the last half of the wall.
The girls had 2 birthday parties to go to this weekend. One each day. So off they went from the Y to birthday party #1, while Aubrey and I went home and played some Grand Turismo3. (We're always a couple of years behind the curve in PS2 games). Then I started cutting 2x4's for my bathroom wall. I got about 4 boards into it before I realized I didn't know what in the world I was doing, so I had to call Jeff 3-4 times to have him explain stuff to me. He eventually came over and he set me straight, and we came to the conclusion that I was going to be best off by moving a pvc furnace intake. So the wall building was at that moment abrubtly stopped short to build a new pvc intake.
Sat. nite, we played a HORSE tournament, which was entertaining. Alfred had earlier in the day won a free tournament that got him a $250 seat at harrah's WSOP qualifier this saturday. I'll be interested to see how that goes. Chad tried it once, and I wouldn't be surprised if he does it again.
Sunday I went and got all my pvc supplies, and started cutting down the old stuff. Of course, the first thing I did was drop a large filter that hit hit the ground and shattered like a crystal vase. I didn't think home depot was going to carry something like that, so I picked up all the pieces and glued it all together again. The thing was stupid anyway. It looked like it was supposed to be a filter of some sort, but it wasn't a very good one, as there was no screen, trap, or anything to prevent anything from going right through it. So I got all the pvc done and called it a day.
We then went out to eat at Red Robin.
Then I went home and did more homework (still not finished!)
For the first time in years, I went to bed at 11pm, because I was very tired.
