jealous again
Well, I'd heard rumors of this, but nothing really concrete. Now I actually believe the hype.
I shall now break into my standard narrative style, and give way too much background before saying what it is I'm talking about, so deal.
From 2nd grade to 9th grade, I had really 4 main friends, Ben, Brian, Samir, and Andy. We all did everything together, and mostly sports of one sort or another. Andy had been playing tennis since he was very young because his whole family played it. We all did soccer and whatever else we could do. We all tried wrestling in 8th grade, but I was the only one who stuck with it. Andy was No.1 varsity from 9th grade on. The No.2 player was Rick Stempson, and they were friends too, in fact, they were the No. 1 doubles team. Andy and I did most everything together, and were locker mates thru most of junior high. But as we got older, we hung out more primarily with people in the sports we did, so Andy and Rick hung out more, and I hung out more with friends from gymnastics nd wrestling, but we always remained good friends. I didn't stay in touch with him after high school, and recently I heard a rumor that he and Rick wrote a screenplay that actually got picked up, and was going to be turned into an honest-to-god movie, but who knows, right?
Well, I guess it's true.
So good for them. I guess it's a "based on the true story" type thing, where their coach was nothing short of a miracle worker (and I can attest to Andy telling me several times some amazing things about him) guiding them to 10 straight state titles. Which is incredible. The guy was amazing, so I suppose he should have a movie made about him. I look forward to seeing it.
