bittersweet symphony

Well, it was my annual week of presents this week.
Valentine's day/ anniversary, Ann's Birthday, & Aubrey's birthday all in one week. Good times for the wallet.
Also fun, the van's transmission completely died on tuesday, the latest day of huge snow. The only reason I bought that van new was because of the 7 year drivetrain warranty, and I am using it. They are currently putting in a completely different transmission, the old one is dead. I'm not sure if they screwed it up when they fixed the earlier leak, or if it was dying anyway, I'm just glad it had a warranty.

But it's been really fun not being able to drive my new truck , and hauling 3 kids around in a single bench seat in the back of that truck. It's as bad as any road trip movie you've ever seen, "stop touching me", incessant playing with the windows and fan controls like it's the first time they've ever been in a car.

Hopefully that will be done today, and I can have my truck back, and the kids can be driven around in a a vehicle with some physical separation to it.
