over now
I have discovered that my wireless network is very susceptible to our 2.4Ghz phones. I can be working on the laptop, and when the phone rings, network gone. Sometimes this is imperceptible, but last nite, I was in the middle of a big poker hand on full tilt, where I was trapping someone big time. I had made several previous large bets, because I flopped a set, but there where 2 hearts on the board, and I wanted to punish the drawers. Of course, one guy hung on to the end, and the river was a heart, which normally I didn't want, but this was a rare case where it made us both because it paired the board. So I already have half my stack invested in the hand, but then put a small, "oh god, I hope that card didn't give him the flush" bet, and literally the instant I see him do exactly what I want, go all-in over me, the phone rings, and the network connection is lost.
The laptop spends the next 3 minutes getting it's act together, but by then I see that I had folded my winning hand, and lost the vast majority of my stack.
Neat.
